The European Health Report 2012: Charting the way to wellbeing, shows that application of knowledge about how to improve health across all public policies brings demonstrable benefits: life expectancy is up by an average of five years since 1980 and is projected to increase despite major risks and threats. But data from individual countries show large inequalities in life expectancy and years gained, especially when analysed by sex and regions.
On December 2012 INNOVAGE project launches the 1st Newsletter of the project. After a brief description of the project, you will find a resume of all actions developed during the first year of the project (partner´s meetings and study visits), the next planned activities and an innovage glossary.
Within the framework of the Thematic Programme Capitalisation initiative of the Interregional Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC a targeted thematic workshop on Demographic Change was organised on the 7th of November in Brussels. INNOVAGE was presented on this workshop under the Demographic change thematic area, jointly with other European projects related to this topic such as CASA and DAA projects which are close related with INNOVAge. At the following link you can find the final report of the workshop.
We invite you to take a look at some of the presentations showed during the study visit held in London in December 2012. You will find a lot of interest information about good practices related to the eco-independent living for the elderly. Very recommendable!
The event brought together more than 40 participants (technological providers, researchers, telecare professionals, private health insurance). The workshop drew the state of the art of the situation regarding fall detection at home and the service/technology offer available on the market at the moment. Then, a discussion among the participants was initiated on the potential services/solution to develop to prevent fall and/or improve fall detection.
